A supportive workplace culture refers to an environment where positive relationships are fostered, open communication is promoted, diversity is valued, and personal and professional growth is encouraged. A supportive workplace culture has been found to have a number of positive effects on both employees and the organization. Research has shown that a supportive workplace culture can lead to improved employee retention rates. A study published in the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology found that employees who perceived their workplace as supportive were more likely to remain with the organization for a longer period of time (*Halbesleben, Buckley, & Sauer, 2004*).
